So, what's this all about, anyway?

I've been wondering lately about what I'm good at.  I have two wonderful kids.  I've had a good career.  But, in a day when about one-half of marriages end in divorce and many young people are just putting off marriage in favor of cohabitation, my best and most lasting accomplishment may very well be that my husband and I are both 40 and will celebrate our 20th anniversary this year.

Even better, we're happy.  I love this guy I married nearly 20 years ago even more now.  We're best friends.  He's the only person to whom I can tell anything, reveal my most secret hopes, dreams, fears, etc.  I know he's always there for me.  And we are both fiercely loyal to each other.

So, what will you find here?  My hope is that I can let you in on some of our "secrets."  I'll tell you about the big and little things that I think make our marriage happy.  I'm not saying that we have it all figured out, and I'm sure many of you could give us some good advice.  I just like to write (but don't do it much anymore), and if even one thing I post helps even one couple's marriage in some way, it will feel worthwhile.

Just a few upfront warnings:  1) To my non-Christian friends, I may post Bible references from time to time, and credit God with some of the great things that have happened in my marriage and life.  2) To my Christian friends, I'm not sure this blog will always be rated G.  I haven't decided yet, but I do feel like there are some important marriage topics that aren't rated G that we don't talk about enough.  So, we'll see...  You've all been warned.
